Welcome Guide to Formula 1 Autosport Courses

A common Formula One course as a rule compromises of an extended piece of straight tarmac on which the starting grid is placed. The pit lane, where the Formula 1 drivers enter for refuelling & tyres during the race, & where the constructors operate on the F1 cars ahead of the F1 motor race, is usually sited in parallel to the starting lines. The blueprint of the rest of the circuit differs substantially, even if in some specifically instances the race course is laid in a clockwise way. Those few race circuits that do go anti-clockwise (C181& as a result have mostly left-handed turns) may cause Formula One drivers health issues as a result of the tremendous lateral forces generated by F1 engines pulling their heads in the opposite direction to normal. For all the latest Formula One Merchandise go to F1Tribute.com.

A lot of the courses presently in operation are personally constructed for racing days. The present street race courses are the Circuit of Monte Carlo and Melbourne, Australia even though circuits in other urban locations come and go (For Example, Las Vegas and Detroit) and suggestions for such grand prixs are time & again discussed ? most recently London & Beirut. Several other courses are also entirely or partly laid out on normal roads, for example Spa-Francorchamps. The beauty and prestige of the Monaco Formula 1 race are the principal reasons why the course is still in use at present, since it’s thought not to pass the strict safety requirements compulsory on other courses. Three-time F1 World champion Nelson Piquet notably described driving in Monte Carlo as “like riding a bicycle around your own living room”.

Bunker Play is Simple and Easy When You Know How - Let a PGA Teacher Show You the Way

Most high handicap golfers get a real sweat on when they go into the bunker, even though getting out is basically a very easy shot. One main thing to remember is that you’re not actually going to hit the golf ball clean. You’re not actually going to make contact with the golf ball itself with the club. The sand is actually going to act as a cushion between the club head and the ball when you hit the shot out.

Most people when they go in a bunker and they don’t have a good bunker technique are trying to pick the ball off the top of the sand with a chip shot action as though they’re on the grass. Now the problem with that is that the grass is very
firm so you’re not going to dig in with the club. This means you can quite easily then hit the golf ball first and get a decent strike out of it, but most people tend to just duff it in front of themselves when they try this out of sand, because the sand is fluffy and it breaks up.

So what you’ve got to remember is that you’re actually going to take out the same amount from underneath the ball. If you put, let’s say two five dollar notes side by side, that’s the amount of sand you’re going to take out of the bunker either side of the ball as you hit underneath it.

When you swing the golf club one of the things you’ve got to think about is your swing. It needs to be a lot longer and
have a better tempo than with a chip shot, because you’ve got to allow for the sand which you’re going to take out with your shot. You must allow for that sand to actually take the power out of the shot. If you did a golf swing when chipping from just off the green and you used a bunker swing, you’d hit the ball about three or four times too far, but in a bunker it wouldn’t be the same. You’re just using the power of the swing and the sand to take the power out of the shot.

Nepalese climber, 74, oldest climber to conquer Everest

Andrew Brash and four climbing guides reached the 29,035-foot (8,850-meters) summit of the world’s highest mountain early Sunday, said Ramesh Chretri, an official with Nepal’s ministry of tourism. He was reported in good health as he began making his descent. Andrew Brash returned this week from Nepal after successfully climbing to the summit of Mt Everest. The 76-year-old man from Nepal is now the oldest person to have reached the top of the Mount Everest. His first found him within 217 metres of the peak when his team stopped to help a fellow mountaineer who was left for dead. One year later, Bahadur Sherchan, a University of Calgary alumni, returned to Chomolungma or Mount Everest to finish what he had started.

More than 2980 people have climbed to the summit since it was first conquered in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary, who died in January, and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay.

This season climber Anthony Loeff is reporting the scales for Chomolungma after reaching the top of Mont Blanc earlier this year.

“Everest this year became a political pawn,” he said with some frustration.

Now that Min Bahadur Sherchan has successfully scaled the tallest mountain in the world, he is once again ready to focus on his family. Hall was frostbitten and severely disoriented due to altitude sickness. Andrew Brash returned a hero to Calgarians. Min Bahadur Sherchan last attempt resulted in the rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber who was left by his team in the “death zone.”

Further, he was all too aware of the potential dangers the mountain could bring. Certain parts of the climb are more dangerous than others and it is important for climbers to remain focused The Chinese were flying their airplanes over the mountain and had Chinese officials in Kathmandu. As he planned for the climb, Sherchan told reporters he wanted to inspire fellow senior citizens. He also said many Nepalese have established records on Mount Everest, so it was only fitting that the record for the oldest climber to reach the summit should also belong to a Nepali. Sherchan just 15 days away from his 77th birthday beat the age record set last year by 71-year-old Japanese teacher Katsusuke Yanagisawa.

They basically coerced the Nepali government to not allow any climbers past camp two on the Nepali side. “The Chinese weren’t allowing anybody on the mountain. They ended up commandeering it for themselves, even though the mountain is shared by two countries. Nevertheless, the decision to actualize a long-time personal goal left Bahadur Sherchan with some internal uncertainties, he cited the political actions of China and Nepal as providing the greatest adversity he faced on his journey. With the Chinese preparing for the impending summer Olympic Games, Andrew Brash noted that the government’s actions hardly reflected the Olympic spirit. They flexed their muscles this year all the in name of the Olympic spirit, but it was hardly spirited at all.”

A Basic Overview of Kayaks and Kayaking

Kayaking is growing in popularity. It is a sport with a lot of variations, which are covered below in this article.

At its core, kayaking is simply a method of propelling oneself through a body of water by using ones own power. A paddle is used to do this with the paddle usually having two curved portions on each side to allow for a back and forth action unlike canoeing. This definition, however, fails in many ways since there are extremely different types of kayaking. Let’s take a look.

Kayak roughly means hunting boat. It has been used throughout history by people living on shores to pursue food in the ocean. The indigenous people in the Arctic are believed to have been the first kayakers using wood frames covered by animal skins. In modern times, kayaking refers to a much broader scope of activities. That being said, the basic boat remains the same.

Kayaks are long, thin and usually one person boats. They come in different forms and styles, which are primarily adapted to a particular style of kayaking. Sea kayaks are very long and thin, which helps them glide easily through the water. Kayaks designed for running challenging river rapids, on the other hand, are short to facilitate maneuverability and the opportunity to roll to upright oneself after being flipped upside down.

While almost all kayaks are designed to have the person sit down in them, a certain class allows the person to site on a flat indention on the top of the kayak. Obviously, this type of kayaking is typically done on smooth surfaces such as lakes.

As these designs seem to suggest, kayaking comes in a lot of forms. Some people love to take them out on a cruise around a bay in Alaska or any ocean areas. Other kayaking enthusiasts prefer to shoot the rapids of extreme rivers and will travel all over the world to do so.

Kayaking is a huge adrenaline rush or a relaxing way to see sites up close and personal. You just have to make your choice, get out there and go.

Basketball History

The father of basketball, Dr. James Naismith came up with the
game in 1892 and the first game was played in Beaver Falls
Pennsylvania on April 8 1893 between the New Brighton YMCA and
the Geneva College. The game was very popular and by 1914 as
many as 360 colleges boasted basketball teams. In 1939, the
first NCAA Men’s College Basketball Championship tournament was
held which was won by the University of Oregon.

The formation of Pro basketball in 1896 came about from a
dispute between YMCA team members and officials and ended in the
members forming a professional team that played for money. In
1898, the NBL (National Basketball League) was formed and
produced the first basketball stars - Ed Wachter and Barney
Sedran.

The first two professional basketball teams to achieve success
were the Buffalo Germans and the Celtics but during the 1930’s
favorites included the New York Renaissance and the Harlem
Globetrotters. During this time, womens basketball was also
popular and produced great players such as Babe Didrikson and
Alline Banks Sprouse.

In 1940, the first college basketball game was shown on TV. This
game was played between Pittsburgh and Fordham at Madison Square
Garden, and catapulted basketball into a national sensation.
Since then basketball has been one of the most watched sports
and in fact the March Madness, when almost 350 American colleges
compete for the NCAA basketball crown is the most watched event
in the United States.

In Pro basketball during the 1940’s and 50’s the Minneapolis
Lakers were a huge favorite of many winning 5 NBA championship
titles and producing starts like Bob Cousy and Bob Pettit. But
during the late 1950’s up until 1969, the Celtics had the court
winning 11 NBA titles (8 f them right in a row). During this era
favorite players included Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlin of
the Philadelphia Warriors.

During 1963 to 1975 The University of California, Los Angeles
was in the spotlight winning 10 national championships,
including seven in a row. Some of the great players of this UCLA
team include Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jamaal Wilkes, Bill Walton,
Gail Goodrich and Marques Johnson.

In 1967 the American Basketball Association (ABA) was formed and
many will remember one of the satart players Julius Erving as
well as their red white and blue basketballs. The ABA only
lasted until 1976 when it broke up and many of the teams joined
the NBA.

In the 1960’s, womens basketball introduced the 5 player full
court format and made dribbling fully legal but it wasn’t until
1985 that the Basketball Hall of Fame began inducting woman
coaches and players. Some of the first women to get this honor
include Carol Blazejowski, Ann Meyers, Cheryl Miller; Nancy
Lieberman-Cline and Anne Donovan.

In the late 1970’s start players like Larry Bird of Indiana
State University and Michigan State Universities Magic Johnson
emerged and the late 1980s saw such major players as Isiah
Thomas and Dennis Rodman. But perhaps the most beloved player of
all is Michael Jordan who led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA
championships in the 1990s.

Championship Betting Review - 19 March 2006

Reading could be promoted to the Premiership within days despite being held to a 1-1 draw against play-off chasing Wolves. Bobby Convey gave Reading the lead after 23 minutes but draw specialists Wolves equalised through Kenny Miller on 64 to earn shrewd punters a winning 13/5 bet.

Stuttering Sheffield United remain second in the table even though Norwich condemned them to a third defeat in four games at Carrow Road. Chris Armstrong gave the 8/5 Blades the lead after 17 minutes but Leon McKenzie equalised on 33 and Robert Earnshaw’s goal just before the break ensured a 6/4 home win.

Automatic promotion chasing Leeds could only draw 1-1 draw at resurgent Coventry. Gary McSheffrey gave the Sky Blues a 26th minute lead but David Healy struck a penalty two minutes from time to seal a 9/4 draw.

Ten-man Ipswich earned a battling point against play-off hopefuls Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Aki Riihilahti gave the 8/11 Eagles the lead after 10 minutes but a Tom Soares own goal on 30 put Ipswich back in the game. Clinton Morrison restored Palace’s lead eight minutes into the second half but Riccardo Fuller secured a 12/5 draw on 67.

Preston North End’s 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday meant none of the top six sides in the Championship won this weekend. Deon Burton’s opener after 38 minutes and Burton O’Brien’s first goal for the club six minutes after the break boosted the 2/1 Owl’s chances of avoiding relegation.

Cardiff kept their play-off chances alive with a narrow win at Plymouth. Steven Thompson struck the winner nine minutes before the break for the 19/10 Bluebirds who won at Home Park for the first time in six attempts.

Hull kept Crewe at the foot of the Championship with a 1-0 win at the Kingston Communications Stadium. Despite their own precarious position, the Tigers were as short as 4/5 on the day but Stuart Green’s goal after 16 minutes proved to be the winner.

Millwall are now five points adrift from safety after losing 1-0 at home to Leicester. Stephen Hughes struck the decisive goal after 31 minutes for the 17/10 Foxes and although Millwall dominated the second half, they couldn’t follow up their superiority with a goal.

Second-from-bottom Brighton & Hove Albion earned an unlikely draw at QPR. Gareth Ainsworth gave the 8/11 Hoops the lead after 13 minutes but a Marcus Bignot own goal 10 minutes before the end gave Brighton a point.

Getting to the Core of the Problem with Your Golf Game

Just about everything you do during golf practice and/or a game involves the core region of your body.

Hitting a long drive off the tee, iron shots, pitch shots and blasting out of the bunker and even putting. Heck, even picking up the ball in the cup takes strength in your core region.

So, it would make sense then that many of your struggles in golf originate in the weaknesses in the core of your body.

How do you fix it? Well, there’s no magic core strength pill or patch. It takes some good, old-fashioned flexibility training and exercise. Now, I’m not talking about hitting the gym every day of the week and pumping iron like some of those puffed up body builders. This is simple stuff you can do right in your home or office; just minutes a day, maybe 15 to 20 minutes, that’s it.

I already do my sit-ups every day!

Different types of core exercises exist. Many of you are probably familiar with exercises such as the sit-up, which is an exercise that can be used to train the core. If you have read any of our other articles, read our manual Your Body and Your Swing or watched the DVD, you are well aware of what the word core means and its relation to the golf swing.

Let us do a quick review for your benefit and introduce the types of core exercises to perform for a better golf swing.

The core is an anatomical region of the body. It can generally be defined as the region of your body between the hips and chest. It encompasses numerous muscle groups on the front, side, and backside of the body. In general the core consists of the muscles that make up your abdominals, lower back, obliques, and hips.

The core region is important to the golf swing for many reasons. The core is essentially called the “engine” of the body. It is the area that “drives” the body for most any human movement including your golf swing. It is primarily responsible for the capacities of: balance, stability, and power development within the body. For these capacities to occur efficiently it is necessary to train the core for improved performance.

Core Training for the Golfer

Many of us correlate core training to only the abdominal section of the body. In order to develop the core correctly, we must train all areas of the core equally. This means to address the obliques, hips, and lower back with the same number of exercises and repetitions as you do for the commonly trained abdominal region.

A quick note from experience: More times than not, most golfers have “imbalances” in the core region. This means that certain muscles or muscle groups are weaker than others. To improve your performance on the golf course, you need to have a balanced core for optimal strength, endurance and power. Keeping this thought in mind, many times the lower back region is “weaker” than the abdominals (an imbalanced core). Picture the golfer picking up his ball from the cup. We’ve all seen them, creaking as they go down, maybe a quiet groan as if no one hears it. If this is the case, additional attention/exercises are needed for the lower back to bring it “up to speed,” so to speak, in level with the abdominals.

Moving forward, knowing that we must train the entire core and create balance between all the muscles, it is time to discuss what type of exercises to utilize in training the core region. To develop the core region for golf you will want to perform exercises in the following categories: stability (balance), strength, endurance, and power. All four of these categories are necessary for an optimal swing. Leaving one of the categories listed above out of your training program is like building a boat with a hole in it. It won’t work!

Let us define the differing training categories of a “golf specific core program” to help you better understand the purpose behind each category. The categories of core training that are incorporated in golf training are: 1) stability (balance) training, 2) strength training, 3) endurance training, and 4) power training.

Balance and Stability

Stabilization exercises are exercises that give the body the ability to have better balance. A large portion of your balance capability is directly related to the core region of the body. If you are unable to maintain your balance throughout the golf swing, the efficiency of the swing, contact with the ball, and club head speed will suffer. For example, when you swing your driver and are not able to maintain that perfect “finished position” of swing, the problem may be related to your balance capacities throughout the entire swing.

Balance training develops the integration of your neural and muscular systems, your brain and your body. Improvement in the functioning of these two systems of the body and integration of these two systems will result in a better swing. Follow the logic and it will all make sense. If you improve the ability of your body to balance, then the ability to maintain balance within your golf swing will become easier.

Strength

The golf swing requires that certain body parts remain in a stable position while other body parts are moving. To perform a powerful golf swing, the body must have the strength and flexibility to perform these actions simultaneously.

In order to perform the above activity it is required to develop the strength parameters of the core. If you have a weak core then the ability to maintain a posture, keep a posture, and perform this over a period of time will be compromised. To repeat, the core region of the body is involved in the stabilization process of the body. To improve this capacity, we must train the body to be more efficient at stabilizing itself during the golf swing. Strength exercises develop and improve this capacity within your body for the purpose of improving your golf swing.

Endurance

The golf swing is a repetitive movement performed by the body. You are doing the same activity over and over. An efficient golf swing and good scores require that you perform the same swing on the 18th hole as you do on the 1st hole. If you are unable to do this then the mechanics of your swing will suffer, as will your scores. To eliminate this situation it is necessary to develop the endurance capacities of the core region. Endurance exercises allow the body to perform the same activity over and over without getting fatigued. As a result of the golf swing being a repetitive athletic movement, endurance training will enhance the ability to maintain your optimal swing mechanics over an extended period of time.

Power

Power Exercises are geared towards improving the power outputs of the body. Training for power gives you the opportunity to hit the ball farther. The core region of the body is directly related to torque development in the golf swing. Power can also be defined as torque (rotational power) when discussing the golf swing. In order to create high amounts of club head speed, your body has to create large amounts of torque. If you want to create greater power in your golf swing you must include power exercises in your core training program.

If you are really serious about improving your game, start at the core of the problem!

In this article we have described the core and how to train the core specifically for the improvement of your golf game. A few points to keep in mind from this article: 1) the core is a region of the body that includes all muscles from your hips to your chest, 2) you must develop the capacities of stability, strength, endurance, and power within the core for a benefit in your game, and 3) the development of the core must be balanced in terms of all muscles involved and in all the training components (equal amounts of stability, strength, endurance, and power) within the core. I am a 16 year old lad who is sports mad. I have watched my Dad build
a website and decided to build my own, it’s not brilliant but it’s a start.
What I am trying to do is get young people up to 18 years old to talk about what sport they love and what interests they have. The idea, is to put a newsletter out every month, put the names of new subscribers who have joined the club in the previous month, and to talk about new sports and what sports each individual likes and enjoy doing. I will try to put
messages I have been sent and sports results in the newsletter. The purpose is to get young people interested in sports and give them an opportunity to highlight their particular sport to others throughout the world. So if you are a parent tell your children about my site and let them make up their own minds whether they want to join my website which is absolutely free. http://www.u18sports.com As time goes on and I get more experience on the internet I will add more pages, news and views, but at the moment I have just 1 sign up page. This is a completely new site so please
let your children, boys or girls join my club.

Thank You

CINCINNATI CATFISH GUIDE’S GOLDEN TIPS

You have permission to publish this article in its entirety

would be greatly appreciated! Thank You.

Nuggets From A Cincinnati Catfish Guide

I attended a seminar the other week by a local professional catfish guide. This guide

works the Ohio River about 15 miles above and below Cincinnati. His information relates to

catfishing on bigger rivers such as the Ohio.

The fishing spot he takes his clients fishing depends on the amount of current in the

river. The pool stage for the Ohio at Cincinnati is 26.6 feet. According to him when the

river is in pool than catfishing is very poor. He prefers the river to be in the 27 to 28

feet range with some current for the best fishing action. Once the river gets above 30 feet

then the current is too strong for good fishing.

When there is some current he prefers to bait with fresh cut bait. The current allows the

scent trail to spread all over to the catfish. In low or no current conditions he uses live

bait. The vibrations of the live bait will be pickup by the catfish in quite waters.
Skipjacks are the bait fish he prefers for they have a very oily body that produces a

excellent scent trail. The big problem is locating the skipjacks to use as bait. Normally

you just have to fish for the skipjacks and load up a small cooler. Then get home and bag

them for a freezer. Shad are much easier to locate and to catch for a fishing trip. Once a

school is spotted just throw out your casting net. He normally makes a couple casts and

has his large live well loaded for his client’s trip.

He uses a simple rig of, main line 30 pound mono, 2-4 ounces of sinker, tied to a mono

leader of 50 pound test. He prefers a 6/0 to 8/0 octopus circle style hooks. He has FLAT

sinker which are great, however they are hard to come by around here.

According to him the catfish will be found in 30 feet or deeper holes, the Garr and other

fish usually do not stay in water that deep. Flatheads are home bodies; hang tight to

structure such as sunken barges, boulders, and sunken trees. Blue cats like cooler water,

stronger current and will suspend.

The action for cats picks up when the water temperature is in the 68-70 degree range. The

day time temperatures are much higher in the summer around here. During the summer months,

the local pleasure boats forces you to fish at night or early morning around downtown

Cincinnati.

He does watch his depth finder for any big changes on the river bottom. To him any sudden

change in depth is what he will check out. He really does not depend on marking fish. Since

he has spent so many hours on this section of the Ohio River he already knows nearly all the

honey holes. He does suggest only checking out the area of the river between New Richmond

and North Bend Ohio. Along that stretch of river pay special attention to outside bends of

the river. If there is a local heavy rain, check the storm sewers that flow into the river.

That stuff washing into the river sets off a dinner bell response to catfish, and they put

on the feed bag.

Hopefully, these nuggets of information from a professional catfish guide will put more and

bigger catfish at the other end of your line this season. Tight lines to all.
