A Small History of Women’s Rights (in Switzerland) - For a Change

We all know Switzerland. It is a small country with no connection to the see, a fact that makes the country already special. Top of mind, thinking about Switzerland you will probably mention - watches or the banking secret.

But did you know this?

Below are presented some dates from countries in which they conceded women the right to vote:

  • Soviet Union (1917), Austria (1918), Germany (1919), USA (1920), the United Kingdom (1928), Spain (1931), France (1944), Italy (1945) and Switzerland (1971) …

Apparently, while in 1971 the confederation introduced the women’s right to vote, two autonomous regions (called Cantons) were able to withhold these rights:

two conservative half-cantons in eastern Switzerland, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Appenzell Innerrhoden refused to do so for a long time. During the 1980’s pressure of public opinion increased. The men of Appenzell Ausserrhoden thought it might be better to change their laws themselves and they did so in 1989. But in Appenzell Innerrhoden nothing changed. (http://history-switzerland.geschichte-schweiz.ch/chronology-womens-right-vote-switzerland.html)

Clearly an exception asking to be further investigated:

… seems that the introduction of major changes in society is easier when the system is changed altogether: The Soviet Union, Austria and Germany (1917-1919) introduced women’s right to vote together with the abolition of monarchy, while it took longer to modify an established and functioning democratic tradition (UK 1928, France 1944, Switzerland 1971). (same source)

This seems a very plausible analysis. When you compare this to the business management practice. There are indeed those issues avoided by many because of their delicacy. But all of a sudden, there comes a time with momentum for change and the “minor” topic gets finally attention and is solved — “why didn’t we do this earlier,” is what people say afterwards.

Also true is the fact that real changes take place by exceptions and “the last drop makes the cup run over.” Apparently this was not yet the case in this canton. Why it took this canton until 1990 still seems like a Swiss banking secret.

But from the analysis of the Swiss history we learn more:

On the other hand, changing rules alone is only the one half of the process of change - the new rules must be known and accepted by a broad majority of the population to become effective. Direct Democracy does help to raise a discussion on rules in the families, at work and in other places ordinary people meet each other. Experts are forced to explain the necessity for change not only to a small number of people (members of government and parliament) but to everybody. This is very helpful to ensure that (almost) everybody will understand the need for change. (s.c.)

Experience the relation between change and knowledge. It takes time to get the new rules known by the community. Or … we have failed to sell the new rules because we didn’t believe strongly enough in them?

The basics of paid surveys

Why do companies conduct surveys? To top it, why do companies pay for participating in a survey? This small write-up will help you understand the basics of survey and the paid form of surveys.

Survey is nothing but data or information collection. This information is processed to arrive at a useful conclusion. This useful conclusion may be in the form of new product or better customer service or larger distribution network. All of this is done to enhance customer satisfaction about a product. Surveys are essentially statistical in nature. The non-statistical approach to people’s opinion is termed focus group interviews. Focus group interviews hover around qualitative aspects of people’s opinion about a product. Surveys are conducted over a large number of people against very few in case of focus group interviews.
Person participating in a survey is called respondent. Questions are asked her regarding her perception about a product. Surveys try to understand overall perception of the population based on the responses of the people surveyed. The group of people surveyed is called sample.

The findings from the sample are treated to be as though these have come from the whole population. For example, survey about new features in a car will have only couple of thousands of respondents across the country. However, the aggregate response from these couple of thousand of people will be treated as if it had come from the whole car owners’ population in the country.

Surveys are conducted in various ways - paper, email, snail mail, telephone and online. While each has its own set of pro’s and con’s, paper surveys have been most popular in the past. With so many surveys being conducted by as many companies, participants have started losing interest and involvement in the process. This has offered the impetus to online surveys where people can fill the questionnaire in their leisure time, and can even think of skipping some. There is no obligation and necessity to complete the surveys. The large number of surveys has discouraged people from participating in surveys. This reason alone has resulted into offering incentives to people to participate in surveys. This is where the story of paid surveys start. paid surveys are voluntary in nature - you need not take part in each and every survey. If you qualify, you are paid for taking part. This is a win-win situation for all the three - participant, research agency and the company for whom survey is being conducted.

Repurposing Content

Today’s phrase that pays is “repurposing content.” That means taking intellectual property you have created and using it in another way. For example, turning a book into an audio program, or excerpting parts of the book into articles.

Repurposing content can help you reach a brand new audience with your ideas. One advantage of transferring your existing information into new formats is that you can meet the needs of people with different learning styles. This can help you to reach a larger audience with your message, as well as increasing your profits.

Here are some examples of how you can reuse your content:

  • Workshops can be recorded to audio or video. They can be transcribed and turned into articles, booklets and books. If the workshop includes a PowerPoint presentation or other visuals, the presentation can be made available on CD.
  • Books can be excerpted into articles and booklets. Articles may be sold, or offered freely to get more exposure for you and your products. Books can be read to audio and sold on CD or as an online download. Better yet, adapt the content into a new audio program, not simply a reading of the book.
  • Articles and booklets can be combined to create a book. Or put several articles together in a PDF and offer it as an ebook.
  • If you have a large collection of articles, audio, etc., consider setting up a membership Web site. Charge subscribers a fee to access existing and new content.
  • Modify content to appeal to a new audience. Do you have products you created for insurance sales people? Could they be modified to serve Realtors?

This barely scratches the surface of the ways you can use and reuse your content for promotion and profit. Use your imagination and creativity to find new ideas.

Learn the Facts on Hair Loss and What to do About the Situation

There are lots of reasons that will probably make the amazing hair follicles on your head fall out, the primary issue is hereditary hairloss. Male baldness can often hit as many as 4.5 in 10 of men under the age of 38 years old. The normal lad has well over 100 thousand hair follicles on their scalp and might well very easily shed sixty five to one hundred and fifty three hair strands everyday through brushing, showering and sport. This could sound like tons but actually it is pretty normal.

The abnormal rate of losing your hair is when people are losing more hair follicles than what is growing back out. And folk will soon understand and realise you have abnormal hair loss when people start to see your hair line receding. It is always best practise to go check with a baldness professional to make sure guys and girls aren’t seeing the side effects from any medical diseases or under gigantic stress.

The most common cause though is male pattern baldness. This happens when the hormones in your head force the hair follicles to shrink down. This shrinking effect makes the hair strand unable to grow.

If you are concerned you could go and communicate to a specialist and discover what type of hair follicle loss you are suffering from and also learn what excellent hair strand loss treatments are available to worried men and women. Get expert assistance in hairloss from Advanced Hair Studio now.

What To Do When Your “Stuff” Comes Up on the Way to Enlightenment

When you’re in the midst of spiritual growth, aligning with your God-Realized Self more and more, spending a greater portion of your experience in Prime Matrix, taking in more and more Light, and expanding into the enlightened being you are in truth, you can suddenly find yourself very crabby and feeling congested and anything but joyful. When this happens, understand that you are displacing your ego, and ego will do what it has to to survive. It will clamp down on the flow of Love through you to the best of its ability to prevent you from spending more time out of it’s realm of influence, and will bring up all your “stuff” so that it seems to be right in your face.

Of course, the first thing that you experience when this happens is…resistance! And what part of you is the resistance master? Ego, of course. So it’s a double trap. It’s important to understand what is going on so that you don’t find yourself stuck at lower frequency, right where the ego would like for you to be, any longer than necessary. Instead of shutting down in response to this, the answer is to be non-resistantto observe it and just go, “Hmmm…no thanks!” And to open up more and more and do whatever is needed to allow the Love to flow again. You can’t dissolve a shadow with anything but more Light.

To illustrate this phenomenon, there is an exercise I do in some of my workshops where I take a clear cylindrical jar filled with pure water and say that it represents you in the beginning, pure Light and Love without any of the fear and ego stuff you pick up during your Earth journey. Then I drop a teaspoon of instant coffee into it and we watch as the granules float down and the water turns murky, with some of the granules going to the bottom. We imagine that it is the “crud” that you take on in response to living in the duality matrix with egos running the show. (I always see the granules that sink to the bottom as the stuff that you store that detonates later and you don’t have a conscious knowledge of what it is or where it came from).

Then I ask those in the class “How are we going to get the coffee out? How are we going to purify?” Obviously, you can’t un-dissolve the coffee, or somehow pick it out. Next, I pour pure, clean water, which I characterize as “Light” into the top of the jar, which begins to displace the coffee water, which rises up and spills over into the big bowl the jar is in. As the clear water pours in, though, the granules from the bottom also get stirred up and the dark water rises to the top. I tell them to pretend that at the top of the jar are their perceptions, and that if you didn’t know better, based on seeing more murkiness instead of less, your ego would believe that things were going wrong and that taking in more Light was causing things to get worseand might see the solution as being to shut down on the in-pouring of the Light.

Of course, that’s exactly what would keep you stuck with the darkness “in your face.” The truth is that only by continuing to flush with Light will you get rid of the murkiness, so the answer is not to shut down, but continue to open, open, open! Then I continue pouring in the pure water until all the coffee is displaced, and the jar of water is completely clear again. It is something I do to show that in an intensive spiritual experience such as the workshop, or in the ongoing re-spiritualization of our lives, there will be stuff stirred up within, and not to be concerned when it happens, but celebrate it as part of the process and keep doing what we’re doing to let in more Light.

That is an exercise I go back to in my mind over and over again during my own spiritual purification process. I will confess that I am not yet completely immune to being tripped up by ego’s challenges to my enlightenment, and the first thing that comes to mind in these situations has not always been, “Oh! More Light is needed!” But I am learning not to resist it, but instead, to surrender to my God-Realized Self and open to an even greater influx of Love, of Light. I am learning to go to the Step-By-Step Frequency Raising System and work the steps so that I release ego resistance and flood my being with Love and Light so that I move back into the joy space once more!
